Purpose
Swansea Council has commenced work on preparing a Replacement Local Development Plan (RLDP). Once adopted this will become the statutory development plan for the Council, which will guide development and help shape places in Swansea up to 2038. Together with Future Wales, the National Plan, it will be used as the primary material consideration to inform decisions on planning applications and development proposals.
To inform the preparation of the RLDP, the Council will be drawing on a wide range of evidence. This includes developing a robust understanding of Swansea’s economy and its future opportunities and constraints, in order to support sustainable growth.
Turley, working with SQW, have been commissioned jointly by Swansea Council and Neath Port Talbot Council to prepare an Economic and Housing Growth Assessment (EHGA). This will provide robustly evidenced economic growth projections to inform the emerging RLDP.
The Economic and Housing Growth Assessment will consider a wide range of data. To contribute to this, we are also seeking the views of businesses on the environment for doing business in Swansea and their future plans. A parallel survey has been undertaken in Neath Port Talbot.
The survey should take around five minutes to complete. Input from the business community into the EHGA will be vitally important and therefore we are grateful for your input into this work.
How your response will be stored and used
The results of this e-survey will be stored electronically on SQW’s secure network. Access to this is limited to members of the evaluation team. The SQW team will be analysing the e-survey overall and presenting aggregate data, not individual responses. In some cases, we may choose to use specific quotes from open questions; in these cases, we will ensure that the information is completely anonymous and cannot be used to identify any individual that has responded to the survey.
If you have any queries about this survey or our study, please contact Ross Gill, Associate Director, SQW (rgill@sqw.co.uk).
Please tick here to confirm that you understand the purpose of the survey and how the information you provide will be used.
