SQW has been commissioned by North Worcestershire Economic Development and Regeneration (NWedr) to assist with the proposed development of the Redditch Digital Manufacturing and Innovation Centre (DMIC). The proposed project forms a key part of Redditch’s Town Investment Plan, which was submitted to Government as part of the £3.6bn Towns Fund.
The DMIC will be an £8m, c. 2,500 sq m development. The aim is to boost the supply of flexible workspace in the town centre and create a new focal point for innovation-led growth within the local advanced manufacturing sector. The project will also support digital skills and entrepreneurship development.
It is expected that the DMIC will offer:
- high quality, energy efficient, well connected, modern and flexible office space (possibly flexible workshop units too)
- formal and informal meeting spaces to support collaboration and networking
- a welcoming reception with a café, secure storage area and shower facilities for cyclists.
